Info here (I can't get the poster to link).

Attrition are playing Bristol this Saturday night (27th). I've wanted, and failed, to see them live since the mid-90s.

Anybody in?

Also, does anybody know where The Junction is? I am not one of the cool kids and do not know Stokes Croft at all.

Oooh - electric violins! I'll probably be there then.

It's just accross and up the road from where the Full Moon / Eclipse Bar used to be. Toodle pip!

I've been to the Junction twice in my life...the first time I got lost and asked some passers-by if they knew where Stokes Croft was. They looked concerned and said, 'Oooh, that's not a good area to go after dark!' I thought, hmmmm. Sounds like my kind of place!

Anyway. It's here - go under the strangely Soviet Union-style block that is built over the road at the roundabout, and the Junction is a few hundred yards up on the left (about where the 'A38' is on the map). Friendly but very basic punk rock pub - definitely no enormodome-style facilities (like, for example, a stage) but a band with the right kind of boisterous attitude can really make the place jump. How Attrition will fare, I don't know. 'Boisterous' isn't really the Attrition approach...

Stokes Croft itself struck me as the kind of area that's poised for some sort of bohemian reinvention any minute now. It's got pound shops and the other signifiers of a battered economy, but it's got bijou hippy coffe shops and independent music pubs, too. Give it ten years and it'll be the new trendy area!

I can't really do Bristol unless Pete is prepared to come too or drive - although scarily, he does seem to want to get out and about more. (He enjoyed the Wayne Hussey gig THAT much.) And Saturday is my grandmother's birthday, so we'll be heading in the opposite direction anyway.
