60. Doors Open by Ian Rankin

Rankin's first post-Rebus novel. I had my misgivings, because it's an art heist number, which is normally something I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. It did take some time to get into, but Rankin's writing is such that I eventually got quite absorbed.

61. Casino Royale by Ian Fleming

One of the rare occasions where I liked the film better (saw it halfway through reading the book). In parts the writing is rather good, in other parts the prose is decidedly clunky, but it was his first novel. I suppose it doesn't help that it's largely about gambling, which I can in no way give a shit about - thank goodness for interludes where enemies try to kill Bond.

Not a huge instant fan but I'll definitely be giving Diamonds Are Forever, which I picked up with it in the charity shop, a try soon-ish.
