Snow & health update
Feb. 5th, 2009 05:44 pmWent to work when the buses started running this afternoon. It was pretty quiet so I got tons of work done. Got a lift home.
It's freezing over now, and more snow is forecast, so tomorrow is likely to be a rerun of today.
Getting back to the bus stop this afternoon was an adventure. As the local high school was shut, the feral youth had nothing better to do than roam the neighbourhood in packs and throw snowballs (actually iceballs in these conditions) at passing strangers. Due to my inability to move in slushy snow I couldn't run across the road and start a fight. In situations like that I really don't care if I get the stuffing beat out of me - I'm fucking sick of the little bastards. Nobody ever challenges them, and the police refuse to. If that ice ball had hit me in the head it could well have knocked me out.
When I first got ill, my legs hurt all the time. A lot. It always felt like I'd just run a marathon. That hasn't happened in years, but it started again this morning. I guess walking in slushy snow is something I am simply unable to do. My hips hurt quite spectacularly too.
