It's been a fun-packed weekend.
Yesterday, we met up with the Bristol Bibliogoths to tour the Street Art exhibition at the art school. Some truly awesome stuff was on display. Too bad the prints cost an arm and a leg.
After a sit on the terrace (with a lovely view) Jason and I headed into town to get him some new T-shirts. I was starving so we had an early dinner/late lunch at Giraffe, which was surprisingly tasty, and headed down to the Watershed to see Let The Right One In. It's pretty much what you'd expect from a Scandinavian vampire film - thoughtful and arty, yet with a healthy helping of gore. I picked the book up at the library yesterday morning, so now I will get to see what was missing.
It made me miss ice skating. I don't even like skating. Such is the power of the images of the pretty white snow, even when I know perfectly well I like snow even less than I like skating.
This morning we joined
janinemarriott and
dghaem bright and early for a nature walk around Arnos Vale cemetery. Embarrassingly enough, I've never been there before, and it's fantastic. They have a history tour coming up, as well as a summer nature walk and bat and owl spotting evenings. I do believe we'll be back.
I have even started to tackle the colossal mess that the house is in.
I think I need the week at work to recover from that.
Which is pretty humiliating, as I can remember when that level of activity would have been an entirely average weekend, with some clubbing and drinking thrown in (and yes, I still would have been up early for the nature walk). It was a good thing I wasn't hung over this morning, as those birds were really loud!
