The wallpaper removal continues slowly. Yesterday I moved the bookcase that I put there to cover up the spot where the former owners had repaired the peeling wallpaper by sticking it back on the wall with tape.

To discover that what they were actually covering up was a massive hole in the wall. I don't even dare remove it for fear of how much of the wall will come down with it. I may need a whole new wall.

[livejournal.com profile] girfan, can you give me the name and number of that plasterer?

Charming :/ Don't blame you for putting a bookcase against this wall!

When we moved in, there was no money left to fit anything at all, so I just hid all the dodgy bits and forgot about them.

Ouch! That sounds bad. Is it a plasterboard wall?

We currently have a large picture covering a hole in the wall. Pete made it in a temper and has realised what a stupid thing to do it was ever since.

This is at knee height - I think someone gave it a good kick. I think it might be the original plaster as I can see some really old wooden slats behind it.
