Another one of those days
Aug. 19th, 2003 07:13 pmThe Incompetent Co-worker is retiring at the end of the week[1]. I got volunteered to buy her leaving present, which I did today. "Hey, they're paying me to shop!". I wish I could have chosen a day when my legs wanted to work, but I'm on a deadline here (today being the only day she's not in between now & Friday).
I was once again reminded how poor the shopping is in Broadmead, and that the only brands selling purple lipstick at the moment are Givenchy (and then, oddly enough, only at House of Bleeding Fraser, not Debenham's) and Barry M. Givenchy is a bit out of my price range (OK, I have the money, but I can't bring myself to spend it on makeup - I could get more than one CD or book for that price), and I've never purchased a Barry M lipstick but their nail polish is the fastest-disappearing I've ever encountered.
If I have to listen to one more doctor moaning about how they're going to lose more annual leave than I'm actually entitled to because they were too disorganised to arrange any, I might finally actually kill someone. (After all, I only go to work for the paid holiday).
[1] Yes, I really should be more excited about this. And I probably will be when I've got past all the extra work that arrange her leaving entails.
