This evening I realised that the only two times I made it to Convergence were the years I just said the hell with it, bit the bullet and booked right away.  Dithering about whether or not we could afford it or worrying about the timing inevitably means shit is never got together.

Thus, I have booked a room and laminates for Jason and myself.  (Madeleyn, if you guys get stung for my credit card fees I'll pay you extra when we get there.)

I am having the slight feeling of panic that I get whenever I make plans for more than a week or two in advance.  Especially plans that involve parting with money.

I will spend the next 9 months being ridiculously excited about going to parts of the States that even most Americans aren't motivated to see.

Sewing should commence about February.  This time, don't let me put it off.  So far, I'm leaning towards "gothic Calamity Jane"[1], but am trying to think of something suitably Western-y yet steampunk for the industrial night.  I have a skirt that would work well with the western gothic theme, but I mind need to shed some pounds to get into it.

Did I mention the Saturday night is my birthday?

[1] Kind of like gothic Annie Oakley, but less girly.

YAY!

Don't worry about the fees. Whatever happens with that, happens. We just have to adjust our expectations accordingly. Paypal must have it's pound of flesh!

I really think, and hope, that everyone is going to enjoy our strange little neck of the woods. It isn't a common destination, in the big picture, and maybe I'm overly romantic, but when I go up there and take in huge breaths of that air up there, I am always so moved by the beauty and cleanliness and the realization that very few people are so lucky as to have a nigh-Wilderness so close to home. And yet, Bauhaus sounds just as good in our clubs, ha.

And as for your birthday, WOOT! That's good to know. There's a lot of awfully cool stuff going on that weekend. Some things I'm not at liberty to talk about yet, but it will be a VERY celebratory weekend, let's just leave it at that! :)

I can not WAIT for the fashion that people come up with for thie year. *squee*

I'm expecting that mine will just refuse to come home with me.

Hoorah! I will try to remember to nag you about sewing. Can you find black and purple gingham?!

That's an excellent idea! And gingham is so easy to sew because there's nice lines for you to follow.

Yay!!! :)
I need to dig up the pattern pieces for the big sky riding skirt and finally sew it up. I also picked up a driving coat pattern that's prime for steampunking. :)
