Who says you don't learn anything from TV?

Back in the dim and distant past when I was a student at Leeds University, there was a persistent rumour that the Henry Price Building (student residence where my then-boyfriend lived) was built on the model of a Swedish prison.

This week's episode of Swedish Wallander has the detective visiting a Swedish prison.

The rumour is totally true. Only the Swedish prison used a lighter, more cheerful shade of wood.

Rarely have I had such a sense of "hey, I've been there" when I clearly haven't.

Heh, we had exactly the same rumour about the halls at Lampeter (Old Building aside) - and exactly the same moment of recognition watching Wallander.

Humph. I didn't hear that rumour - it must've been after my time.

The prison room looked like one of the more spartan 'example' rooms in Ikea!
