1. One of Us by Michael Marshall Smith
This month's Bibliogoths book. I may come back and edit after the meeting, but for now I'll just say it's pretty much what I've come to expect from MMS, which is a Good Thing.
2. The Daily Coyote by Shreve Stockton
This is another one I've been saving to read all at one go, which I did at the spa on Saturday. City girl moves to Wyoming and is given an orphan coyote cub to rear. It's well written and the pictures are beautiful. It almost makes living in Wyoming an appealing prospect. The faux-philosophy is a bit annoying in parts, but those are very small parts.
It also gets honourable mention for reminding me of the passage in Salman Rushdie's The Ground Beneath Her Feet about people who are "born not belonging", which is something that really stuck with me at the time I read it but I'd forgotten about.
