Well, that was successful, considering I've been in survival mode all week. When I say survival mode, that's survival mode with going to the gym, so it could be worse. It is slightly annoying that just when I seem to have stopped over-sleeping because of the side effects of my meds, I'm over-sleeping on the days after I've been to the gym. This will pass, as I'm sure will being in bed by 8 every night, but in the meantime means I'm not at all productive.
Friday night was the Robyn Hitchcock gig. He was lovely and charming and played a storming set, again. "America" in particular was outstanding. This time I dragged Jason along with me, and he thoroughly enjoyed himself too.
Yesterday, a lovely young alternative couple came around to Freecycle the dining room table. Bless them, they didn't have a car and were going to carry it all the way to Greenbank (normally about a 20-minute walk from here - I've done equally foolish things when I was young and had no transport), but we wrestled it into the car and Jason delivered it for them.
I went to the gym, even though I knew the rest of the day would involve a lot of expenditure of energy, but it was more a point of keeping in the habit - if I start making excuses not to go, I'll just stop going. Came home and engaged in my most successful House Tetris exercise to date. The dining room table has been replaced by my drop-leaf sewing table, which takes up next to no space when not deployed, and various bookshelves have been moved. The result is that even though there is one more piece of furniture in the room than there was when we started (the exercise bike), there is about 5 X as much space. Win!
Then we had people over for a barbecue (at which time the table was fully deployed and there's *still* more space in the room than there was before!) and burning stuff. MDF burns really slowly, so it's not all done. Drank too much vodka. Had lots of fun.
Unsurprisingly, had a quiet day today.
