Got to the gym this morning to find that it was full & there were waits for everything.

As my membership is for all the South Gloucestershire council gyms, I decided to finally check out the newer one at Longwell Green as I had access to the car.

I knew that it's newer and nicer, as well as just a lot bigger so even when it's busy there's always machines available, but I didn't think that it would make any difference and couldn't be bothered to go that little bit further away.

Turns out that I'm much more cheerful about working out in a more pleasant environment. And it's a lot *more* pleasant than I expected it to be. I'd go so far as to say it's Very Nice Indeed. You get a memory stick to put in each machine and it records all your workouts for you, which for a stats geek like me will motivate me no end!

The pool and changing area are so much nicer I'm suddenly a lot more serious about getting my vision sorted out so I can start swimming again.

So I got home and told Jason that I'll be needing the car on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays as I shall be going up there all the time.

I'm not sure that I'd pay more money for a nicer gym, even if I had more money (which I don't), but as it's the same as what I'm paying already it's a bit of a no-brainer.

I'm shallower than I thought

I don't know where you generally go, but Longwell Green is awesome, isn't it? It has a *view* and really good landscaping. Plus no mould and fewer teenage brats hanging around :)

I usually go to Kingswood, on account of the fact it's between home and work.

Shallow? Sounds sensible to me!

Not at all shallow - if it motivates you and makes you more likely to stick to your plan then it seems very sensible!

I should join and hitch a ride with you!

Thanks again for ferret wrangling-sorry that Dante was a bother.

Aside from the initial near heart-failure when I discovered he'd escaped, he was actually no bother at all! If he wasn't stupid enough to come out for treats it would have been a different story.
