tells me that the most I can get paid for my awesome office manager/PA skills in Bristol is £23-£25 k (which is more than I make now) BUT I can make £40 or more to do essentially the same thing in London (and they'd be a lot less likely to want me to own a car). Even with the cost of living increase (it ain't like Bristol is cheap) it's a bit of a no-brainer.

There's even PA jobs in London wanting French speakers!

If only my CV wasn't 4 years out of date.

What they said. N1 is the place to be. And I can help you update your CV - I see hundreds of the things :)

I do appreciate the offer but I think that's a level of humiliation I'm not really up for. (It's a chronic problem - I won't let anyone look at my CV because it's just so embarrassing).

That would be the mature and professional thing to do, wouldn't it.

I'm guessing that since I've got another stinking cold, this weekend is not the best time.

And I worry that any job that pays that much will want 16 hours of my day.

Yes, you have to keep in mind PA/Administrator roles are going to be long hours and use up a lot of your spoons.

I have a lot more spoons than I used to and would be able to do something higher-powered than what I'm doing now, but just because I'm feeling better doesn't mean I want to use all that energy working. It'll be a matter of finding something that uses my abilities but doesn't want me to sign away my whole life.

Actually not so much - City/financial PAs don't have to opt out of the EWTD so your hours can be pretty normal. You will be attached to a crackberry the whole time you're not at work, however...

You also might want to take the time to setup a linkedin account whilst you are looking. I'm not sure if it's as widely used in some sectors, but it's been a way to have a public facing CV which I occasionally get offers through.

It's also useful if you want to have a non-social network to maintain contact details for ex-coworkers.

London certainly has a lot to offer - and if you ever need to crash whilst interviewing let us know.

We're hiring for part-time roles btw :)
