inulroOne of the good things about living in Bristol is that Ron Hutton lives here, and if you're paying attention he does occasional lectures outside the university setting.
Last night I went to see him give a talk at Arnos Vale cemetery on traditional seasonal festivals.
He was completely captivating, as always, and effectively separated the documentable from the mistakes and the made-up.
I've only read one of his books but really need to make an effort to get hold of more of them. Especially the one on seasonal festivals.
