More self-indulgent waffle

inulroI posted this as a comment elsewhere but it's one of the better pieces I've written lately, so I thought I'd share.
I have a tendency to forget that I'm really too old to just go back with two suitcases and couch surf until I get myself a job and a place to live. That I have a partner who would need to sort out selling his house, get a job and a work visa. That I have three bunnies, a guinea pig, 2 gerbils and 4 degus that would need re-homing. That I've spent almost my entire working life over here so all my pension, credit history etc. is over here.
Doesn't stop me from being >this close< to just getting on the next plane on days like today, when the new boss blames me for things that aren't my fault and the 24/7 fireworks extravaganza here in White Trash Heaven means I'll next get to sleep some time next week.
That fresh country air in Whitby makes my brain go in weirder circles than usual.
