I should know this, but I can't remember.

Tomorrow the temperature is going to be 0, but will "feel like" (presumably this means wind chill) -7.

We are due to get a fucktonne of precipitation dumped on us.

Is this more likely to come down as snow, or slushy rain?

If it's snow, buses probably won't run so I'll have to walk to work and will need to get up early.  Snow may well be preferrable to the slush option, except for the walking part.

I'm pretty sure this will mean snow.

Wind chill just gets inanimate objects down to the ambient temperature faster so the precipitation won't drop below 0.

It's also very dependant on what the air temperature in the cloud and on the way down is doing.

Most likely it'll be snow up there.
If there's a warm layer on the way down it will melt and you'll get freezing rain,
Or it'll melt when it hits warmer ground and turn to slush - the earlier the snow starts, the more likely it is to remain snow and then get trampled into ice as people walk on it.

So, it's really all up in the air I'm afraid. Plan for the worst.

No. Snow = no buses. If I don't go to work, I have to take it as holiday. I'm not wasting a day's holiday, so that means I have to walk. I have a stinking cold to begin with, so this is not likely to end well.

Oh, in that case that sucks then.

Yes - for some reason London employers accept that if transport is off, you can't get to work, but out here it seems to be the norm that you have to take annual leave if you don't make it in.

I guess there's more of an assumption that everyone drives, which is a shame. Plus here everyone's used to the public transport system collapsing at the first hint of bother.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but as a Bristolian I can tell you that it's almost certainly going to come down as crappy miserable shit-rain, and at best lie around in the form of crummy, miserable slush.
