Iceland trip prep
Jan. 20th, 2013 02:37 pmI've been reading the Iceland guidebook.
There's a ferry from Copenhagen to Iceland. Some sailing stop off at the Faroe Islands.
It costs about 5X as much as flying, and that's before you factor in the cost of getting to Copenhagen. It takes a couple of days.
I am not at all a fan of boats. I hate being wet, and cold, and in the wind.
Having said that, we're seriously tempted. Talk about the Adventure of a Lifetime!
Also, people who've been - the guidebook says it costs less to stay everywhere if you bring your own sleeping bag. How true is this? I'm caught in the balance between excess baggage charges vs the price of everything in Iceland. And no, we're not kidding about the suitcase full of Trek and Nakd bars.
