Look, I've been busy. For me, anyway.

Saturday night I went to SubSpecies at the Hatchet in Bristol. I mean to go every month but never get around to it, but this month, [livejournal.com profile] caveynik was guest DJ-ing, and seeing as it's impossible for me to attend Dead & Buried, I took the opportunity to pop along.

It was - strange. Nik played some fab tunes I never get to hear anywhere else (or still wouldn't, if I ever left the house) and overall the set list was fantastic. I'll even forgive the notable exceptions, because the good definitely outweighed the bad. I could have done with knowing some more people, or even with there being more people there, as it was pretty empty. And I was more or less the only one who danced. All night. Is that normal?

We left a bit early because I had delusions of also leaving the house on Sunday for something other than Tesco. The trip to Westonbirt was called on account of rain, and we ended up at The Museum of Mechanical Music via a lovely pub lunch instead. I had to pass on the indoor picnic chez [livejournal.com profile] sarah_mum due to being crap and tired. I had picnic food in the car and everything, but being the anti-Martha Stewart that I am, this consisted of Kettle chips and hummous. Actually, it was a good thing we left when we did. I was starting to feel tired, but by the time we got back to Bristol I had the lovely being tortured by being awake feeling, which is something I've avoided for a long time (mainly due to never going out and taking the chance it might happen). Given that I drank too many Vodka Mudslides on Saturday night, it's hardly surprising.

All this and Shaun of the Dead yesterday - no wonder I had to spend most of the afternoon asleep today.
