Weird question for the TO folks
May. 12th, 2004 12:33 pmHas anybody got a double mattress/futon type item that Jason & I can borrow while we're in town?
I have a place to stay with spare room, but my friend no longer has a spare suitable sleeping surface.
I have the use of a PT Cruiser to move said item.
The original plan was to maybe buy a mattress of my own, but now that we're not looking at moving to TO quite so soon, that seems less sensible. Jason votes for buying an inflatable mattress, but I expect my wonderful (NOT) insomnia would object to that.
Can anyone help me out?
We fly to Halifax in a week. All the practical stuff has been taken care of, except that I haven't yet got my Canadian dollars. All I have to worry about is that I'll still be in this much pain when we fly, which would be a disaster. That, and everyone at work has colds. Ever flown with a head cold? It's unpleasant in the extreme.

Date: 2004-05-12 04:39 am (UTC)The most cost effective way to buy Canadian currency is to use an ATM in Canada & withdraw in large chunks.
As for flying with a head cold, I can sympathize - I did that coming back from Ireland and my ears didn't pop for 2 days after I got home.

Date: 2004-05-12 06:35 am (UTC)I need to get at least enough currency to get us a taxi from the airport to the B&B, which is likely to be very expensive - the airport is 38 km outside Halifax, and according to my guidebook the bus only runs 4 x a day.
I've flown with a head cold once. It was our school exchange trip to Quebec City and we were booked on the "milk run". Took off from Regina, and touched down in Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie and Toronto before landing in Montreal and changing planes for the hop up to Quebec City. I thought my head was going to explode.
After that, if I so much as sniffle in the week before a flight, all the decongestants in the world come out in force.
