Has anybody got a double mattress/futon type item that Jason & I can borrow while we're in town?

I have a place to stay with spare room, but my friend no longer has a spare suitable sleeping surface.
I have the use of a PT Cruiser to move said item.

The original plan was to maybe buy a mattress of my own, but now that we're not looking at moving to TO quite so soon, that seems less sensible. Jason votes for buying an inflatable mattress, but I expect my wonderful (NOT) insomnia would object to that.

Can anyone help me out?

We fly to Halifax in a week. All the practical stuff has been taken care of, except that I haven't yet got my Canadian dollars. All I have to worry about is that I'll still be in this much pain when we fly, which would be a disaster. That, and everyone at work has colds. Ever flown with a head cold? It's unpleasant in the extreme.

There are ATM's in the arrivals lounge at the airport as well as a currency exchange window, so you should be good to go cash-wise.

What time of day do you fly in? My SO works at the airport, so if you're arriving late afternoon or early evening on a weekday, he might be able to pick you up.

In Halifax? I always worry about smaller airports. Besides, the post office here sell currency at good rates.

As for TO, we get in about lunchtime on the 29th, but Marcus has volunteered to pick us up. Even if he flakes out on me, taxi fares to the west end aren't too bad.

Oops! I spaced and forgot you're flying into Halifax first. Although there should be an atm there too. There's definitely ATM's and currency exchange in TO, and most airport limos will take crecit cards too.

A cab from Pearson to the west won't be too bad, especially on a weekend at midday. M and I landed during rush hour on Monday on our flight back from C10, and the cab fare to the Beaches was horrendous.

Halifax International has 4 non-major bank machines, and one RBC one which will have the lowest service charges.

I thought it might, but ever since my parents had the stopover in an airport somewhere in Hawaii with no cash machines or change facilities where none of the cafes or shops took plastic on the way back from Oz last year, I'm extra careful about being covered for these things.
