Holiday update delayed
Jun. 10th, 2004 08:01 pmI still haven't written much about our stay in Toronto. We had a great time and there's lots of people I need to thank, etc., but it's going to have to wait till I feel less like I'm about to die.
It's not jetlag. Tuesday was jetlag. Instead, I'm back to my regularly scheduled insomnia. Along with either another eye infection or hay fever. I'm not supposed to feel like this in the summer.
For the first time ever, I had a competent temp while I was away so work is fine. I am, however, having second thoughts about spending another summer in the non air conditioned broiler. The old building wasn't air conditioned either, but it was never meant to be, so it was easy to keep cool by opening windows and setting up some fans. The new building was constructed to have air con but doesn't. Therefore it's impossible to get any air flowing through so it gets very sticky even when not terribly hot. And it's unbelievably dehydrating. I've been drinking loads of water and still had the dehydration headache all afternoon.
