Using TfL's Journey Planner, taking the route that involves the Heathrow Express takes longer than just sitting on the Piccadilly Line all the way to the airport. And necessitates four interchanges. (Plus the bus to Alexandra Palace) and it says there are "problems on this route".
So the cheaper option has become the no-brainer option. Cool.
I need to confirm with BA to make sure my friend has all her arrival details correct; but otherwise all is set to collect her. Aside from the small matter of making a big embarrassing sign with her name on it - we haven't seen each other in 15 years so just may not recognise each other! (Do I still own crayons?)

Date: 2004-08-11 01:37 pm (UTC)At the time there was a Check-In desk at Paddington Station that was brilliant (check in earier than at the airport, no queueing) but I gatrher that's closed now.
The train wasn't worth the money though.
