Denied! and Day 1 between jobs
Sep. 1st, 2004 07:49 pmFirst stop on going into town today was the Bristol Ticket Shop. Sadly PJ Harvey is sold out, and they only had one Cranes ticket left. The staff told me that the Cube keep some tickets back to sell on the door, but I'm not entirely convinced it's worth going along on the off chance. Shall see how we feel on Friday, I suspect.
This is what I get for not getting around to it sooner. On the up side, I'm supposed to be saving money, right?
That disappointment aside, I've had a pretty good day. Adorable Hallowe'en Tat (TM) is now on sale at many locations. Bought a lot of necessary stuff I couldn't buy last month due to paying off the car insurance. I took a poster and my Masters degree in to be framed, something I've been putting off for years. Bought good food at the farmers' market. Did not go to Body Shop, as although it's full of stuff I want to buy, I had a look at the toiletry supply cupboard at home the other day. I really don't need any more.
Came home, put bunnies & pig out, super-cleaned bunny & pig cage and sat outside reading & watching bunnies for a couple hours, tidied up a bit. I nearly fell asleep about 4, but feel pretty good now, all things considered.
Evil job finished yesterday. We went out for a drink afterwards, and the team bought me a cat ornament that I didn't quite see the appeal of at first, but is rapidly growing on me. For Bristol folk, allegedly the beer in the new Zero Degrees microbrewery on Park Row is very good. My body's doing the alcohol intolerance trick again at the moment so I couldn't say myself, but everyone else greatly enjoyed it.
