inulroBut only just. There are many subject on which I intended to wibble this week, but my brain is not here and my fingers quite arthritic.
Convergence bids are being posted. At some point I'll find time to read them and comment on actual bid content. So far bids are from San Diego and Tampa, neither of which appeals for reasons that have nothing to do with the bids. I don't object to the idea of going to SD, but it's fairly impossible to work into the other reasons I need to be in North America (unlike everyone else, I do not give a shit that it's at the same time as Whitby. I give a shit that I think I intend to be in France about then). And Tampa - right coast, but. um. Florida. There's rumours of a bid from Charlotte, NC, which I could get all excited about (I loved what little of NC I've seen), but which nobody else will likely vote for.
Unless there's a last minute surprise bid from DC or Savannah bids *and* actually win or some such, I suspect I'll be spending my travel time elsewhere again this year. I've got to say, not going to Convergence because I have other priorities in travel sucks way less than back when my reason for not going to Convergence was I didn't even have enough money for groceries.
I've got lots of time to change my mind ten times between now & then.
