If I've been a bit quiet
Jan. 12th, 2005 10:08 pmit's because I've mostly been not so well. Nothing drastic, just the Work Flu on top of the usual aches & pains. Joints are, oddly enough, fine, but muscles in general are so stiff I can barely move. To understate, it's depressing to be reading about everyone else working on their new year's resolutions & moving their lives forward when I can barely move down the stairs.
Had my first day off sick at this job on Monday. Didn't get in trouble, but my sick pay doesn't kick in for another two months. Good thing I didn't buy a new winter coat in the sale then.
On a more positive note, I did the most therapeutic thing on Saturday. We had a baby Cashmere[1] bunny in at the shelter who'd got herself into a right mess - long haired rabbits are completely unable to groom themselves & require help. I sat there for the better part of an hour de-tangling her. It was incredibly relaxing & therapeutic, as she was very well behaved & the knots put up less of a fight than expected. She was so cute (as are all baby bunnies)! Unfortunately, I'm unlikely to have that much time every day, which she will need. Also, she's going to be a big girl, so much cage cleaning will be required. Not to mention, if leaving the country is my goal, taking on a baby rabbit that will have a lifelong special need is a big no-no.
[1] It's the only picture I could find. The problem is not so much the length of the coat, but the thickness of it.
