A successful weekend, despite not feeling so well.
Yesterday I did a lot of weeding in the garden. At least it was a lot to me.
Today I'm paying for it. All the muscles in the back of my legs ache and I'm existing in extreme slow motion. Catching the rabbit was interesting.
Made a quick trip to B&Q this morning for Jason to get some gardening stuff and I went to look at doors. I think I've picked out the ones we want. How does one go about having them installed? I'm certainly not doing it myself. And why do doors with the slot for your post cost 3X as much as ones that don't? The temptations are to get out some power tools and install one ourselves, or get an American-style separate mailbox. Also found everything I want for the garden but sensibly realised I don't have time to plant anything for two weeks so will go back then.
Even though I'm not moving so well, I went to the vintage clothing fair. Lots of overpriced clothing but jewellery, hats, shoes and other accessories could be had for reasonable prices. Found the perfect dress at a not too extortionate price, but it didn't fit. Got some costume jewellery, the purplest shoes imaginable and and utterly awesome hat which was very expensive and is completely impractical.
Walked from the university down to the Watershed via a stop to browse in Borders. Our Borders has a Paperchase upstairs. Paperchase are selling little plush dinosaurs, which are too cute for words. Didn't buy any though.
Met up with
janinemariott and JP (WINOLJ) and saw Persepolis. I have to admit to never having heard of the graphic novel, but the film was quite wonderful. It's not exactly cheerful, but there are some funny moments. The artwork is lovely and the music is excellent. Go. Now. I might even purchase the DVD if it's available with the French version. (Though with the English version you get Iggy Pop as one of the uncles).
I seem to have accidentally found a hair colour I really like. I'd not really settled on a red that I was happy with but had to get rid of the grey roots & didn't have time to go anywhere with a decent selection and grabbed a random box of dye from Wilkinsons. Must retrieve the box out of the recycling so as to remember what it was the next time.
Anyway, off to bed and here's hoping the painkillers kick in soon.
