Driving Lesson
Apr. 10th, 2008 09:32 pmDrove for the first time in many years today. It was astonishingly successful. I should really stop being surprised when I turn out to not be completely useless.
Since what I worry about is depth perception and not being able to judge the size of my car and its distance from other objects, my instructor took me down to the People's Republic of Easton to drive around the tiny little streets there. It was raining the whole time and it got dark halfway through, so I got in some practice in non-optimal conditions.
I can't believe how long I've been putting this off. I was exhausted and I haven't been particularly well this week (including doing all manner of stupid things at work and at home), but I still did fine.
I have another lesson booked next week - we're doing winding country roads and motorways, and parking. I've never been any good at parking.
