I had my eyes tested recently, and they told me I'm just on the cusp of needing reading glasses, and that with my prescription, varifocals are not recommended.
The practicalities of my life are such that switching between two pairs of glasses is not an option.
I'm willing to try varifocals - I'm going to go talk to the people at Specsavers tomorrow. I don't have £300 to spend to try something that probably won't work, but one of my colleagues believes they do a free trial.
Which leaves me with laser eye surgery. It won't correct the age-related stuff, but means I'd only have to have reading glasses. It's another expensive option which may not work.
You hear the horror stories, but also good things. I know that
the_siobhan has had it done, but I'm open to hearing experiences, good & bad, from others, especially anyone that's had it done in the UK. I've left this post unlocked in case any of you know people who can be pointed in this direction.
