Windows!!!
Apr. 2nd, 2009 08:50 pmToday the builders came in and replaced all our windows & the front door (the one that's provided us with all the protection from the elements of a wet Kleenex for the past 8 years).
We were told it would be a 2-day job but they got it all done today - started at 9 and finished shortly after 7 this evening.
I'm more excited than is entirely healthy about how good they look (inside and out) and with the minimal amount of mess that the builders made. They should made a big difference to the amount of noise that filters in from the street too.
I realised a couple of weeks ago that now that the windows don't look so awful, I really should shell out and get the front of the house painted. Having had a look at it, I need to get that done sooner rather than later.
The whole process was so un-traumatic I might finally do something about the kitchen & bathroom.
Just because my house is becoming less trashy does not mean I'm about to get all middle-class on y'all.
