Le Weekend
Feb. 11th, 2007 08:25 pmFriday I made it to London in time for Smithy's and B-movie. I saw several people who I haven't seen in years, in one case probably a decade, met some people In Real Life(TM), danced my feet off and generally had an absolutely wonderful time. I didn't look at my watch all night and was somewhat surprised when the music stopped and it was time to go home.
Saturday I had intended to go to the British Library to see the history of London in maps exhibition, but although I didn't feel *that* bad, I also didn't feel particularly well, so sat around talking shite with
zoo_music_girl and
childeric until it was time to catch my coach home. I wasn't convinced I'd get much out of the exhibition and I didn't want to make myself feel even worse, so as it's on for a few more weeks I decided to find one day when I can get ludicrously cheap coach tickets and go up to London again to take it in. Because I can.
Today was the Bristol Bibliogoths meeting. We were discussing Conversations About the End of Time (see my entry from a week or two ago), the first non-fiction book we've read. It generated lots of interesting discussion, leaving us wondering if we shouldn't be doing more non-fiction.
I'm clearly not quite recovered from Friday, as I'm falling asleep at the keyboard here, but I've had a damn fine weekend, which was definitely worth any untoward after-effects I may experience.
