It has been brought to my attention that I don't comply with the "rules" for proper use of User Icons. Must have been, you know, having a life when that memo came round. I'm not doing anything about it either.

Funny how such a throwaway comment in a random rant seems to have grown legs though. I was going to post an in-depth comment about my reasoning but in the end I just couldn't be bothered. I will say that your usage pattern in the one that I can understand though - it's the people who have shit-loads of icons of themselves that I'm a bit suspicious of. (Incidentally I've just added three more to my own collection specifically in response to steers post.

Apparently (http://www.livejournal.com/users/zoo_music_girl/385516.html?thread=3524588#t3524588) you must have at least one icon that's a picture of yourself. I also appear to be non-compliant and thus have been forced to take remedial action...

oh, is that *still* kicking around? Still, it's one of the few decent pictures of me ever taken.

I still have the blue wig but haven't worked up the energy to wear it in years. It takes longer to hide my hair under it than to do something with my hair in the first place, and it gets way too hot.

Did you have a green one too? I seem to recall liking the blue one but recoiling in horror at the green one. I might have made that up though. It is a good photograph, yes. I found it because my weblogs showed access to a picture of mine via someone googling for "ginger hair" of all things!
