Last night I unpacked all the books I acquired at FantasyCon. This is the first time they've all been in one place. There's an awful lot. I'd take a picture to show y'all, but you'd mock me.

Guess I'm a little more depressed and disinhibited than I thought.

As far as I'm concerned, it was totally worth it, hanging out in an atmosphere where people were so damn excited about and committed to what they love, and sharing expertise to help others get into that world. I've never been to a mainstream literary festival, but I can't imagine it being so inspiring at all. Seriously. I haven't been able to write for years - the verbal centres of my brain are friend and on bad days I can't even string a sentence together, but I came away really wanting to start writing again.

In other news, I'm coming down with a really nasty cold. Not impressed.

Well, that was an excellent weekend. Never having been to a con before, I wasn't sure what to expect, and was afraid there may have been a lot of sitting (or worse, standing) around waiting for the sessions with Neil Gaiman and Clive Barker. That was not the case.
